You may have read that i just got a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 that takes 5906 mags.In looking through catalogs for a higher than 10 round capacity, ive noticed that most 20 and 30 rounders specifically say "Fits Marlin Camp Carbine".Is there something different about these 20-30 rounders that would make them say this, and do you know if these "Marlin" 5906 mags will work in a Sub 2000?

No difference. The Marlin Camp Carbine has been out longer. Next batch they package up and advertse will be for the KelTec Carbine because it's still in production and is more popular.

I have 3 Excam 20 rd mags that willnot work in my 5906 but works great in my KelTec. Go figure! The 5906 hi caps are still readily available for a decent amount fropm KY Imports.

Just chiming in to say that CDNN Investments has a good price on full-cap 5900 series mags (be sure to buy factory), and Keisler's has a good price on used ones.

I've bought from both places and been completely happy.

You can check out auctionarms.com, they usually have plenty of used hi-cap mags from individuals for bid. Just go down the front page and check onto mags and clips.

One of the marketing schemes for the Marlin Camp Carbine was the it accepted the S&W 59/659/5906 magazines. It was aimed at the Law Enforcement market back in the "wonder-nine" days of the '80s when many agencies carried the S&W 59 series as their duty sidearm. The local PD used to have them mounted vertically between the front seats of the patrol cars.

. . . Mec-Gar 20-rounders work perfectly, and they're still around. I think the least expensive one I've seen lately was c. $40 at a gun show, NIW. I bought one online not too long ago from Chuck at Kelley Arms [ www.kelleyarms.com ], you might check to see if he has any around.

I wouldn't spend a great deal of money on pre-ban magazines given that the AW ban will probably die next year.
