Are any of you involved with a group called ANSWER? Apparently they intend to protest the war with a "die in" this Saturday. This "die in" encourages protesters to take the names and pictures of fallen military (or Iraqi civilians) and use them.
From the Birmingham paper:
Demonstration insulting, despicable:

Most of The Birmingham News' readers are probably not aware of the organization Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, an anti-war organization planning a demonstration in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

ANSWER will reportedly display pictures and the names of America's sons and daughters who have given their lives in the war on terror, during this event it is calling a "die in." This demonstration and these sentiments are not indicative of the convictions of our nation's defenders, and the demonstration is certainly not carried out with the families' permission.

We ask that you, the majority of Americans who are good and decent, those who are supportive of our heroes, now speak out. Please write your legislators, both state and national, asking they sponsor or support legislation that would make this despicable act illegal. We are proud of our sons and daughters, their commitment to America and desire to serve. We feel they should not be defamed in this way.

I have a real problem with protesters using names and photos of the fallen in their protests without getting permission from the next of kin.
I believe that crosses the first amendment line.
Dead or alive, don't use MY name in your politics without my permission!:cuss:

... oh, and don't mess with Gold Star families or spouses either. That's uncalled for on all accounts:fire:
