i called them after i melted the front sight of my Sub 2000 with Gun Scrubber to get a new sight. they sent me two new sights, the plastic screws that hold them in, and since i asked, they threw in a deflector clip to deal with the back of the ejection port getting beat up, all for free. The lady i spoke to was very pleasant and i offered to pay for the sights since it was my screw up but she wouldn't let me. she just asked for an address and it was here four days later. nifty! i thanked her profusely and installed my new sight and clippy thingy last night. they get thumbs up for service from me.

Glad to see the cust serv is good at kel tec. I've been considering picking up a P32 but I'm waiting to get a good deal on a used one. Depending on the warranty I might just get the new one so I don't have to worry about it.

A couple of years ago the takedown pin on my P-11 was shooting loose. I gave them a call and they sent 6 replacements so I could find a good tight one. Priority mail at no charge.

I own a Kel-Tec P-11. They have a good product at a reasonable price with a great attitude toward the customer.
I wish all companies would operate with the same principles as Kel-Tec.

brian0128,
As I understand it, Kel_Tec warrantees their products whether you're the original owner or the 100th. I haven't had a need to deal with their customer service department, but I've heard they are some of the best in the business. They seem to remember that customer service is about serving the customer.

K-T has great service. AND you can get a gunsmith on the phone quickly if you need to talk to one.

Now if they would just get some hard-chromed P-11 slides in so I can put my gun back together.
Goin' on 7 weeks now. Hope someone in Cocoa is reading here.

Their warranty is technically for the original owner, however, they do not enforce this, they repair under warranty all pistols. Their turnaround time has been a bit slow the past couple of months (to the level of most manufacturers), however this is due to them introducing 2 new products last month, the P-3AT and the SU-16 rifle. It should be back to their old standard (very prompt) in a few weeks.
As BamBam noted, you can almost always speak to a gunsmith when you call them which is very helpful.

and why the heck was i moved to Handguns: Autoloaders? my original post was about customer service from the company and parts received for a Sub 2000 rifle from a company that makes both pistols and rifles. what gives?

I was wondering why this was in "autoloaders'?
Anyway, does the ejection port really take a beating? If so, i want one of these deflectors.I hope to shoot my 2000 for the first time today.

the rear of the ejection por gets beat up by the spent shells pretty quickly. it will cause failures to eject properly in the form of stovepipes. the clip is just a small (about 3/4" X 3/8") piece of steel folded in half to slip over and reinforce the rear of the port so the shells bounce off freely instead of getting caught on the roughened plasitc. they will send you one for free if you call and ask. you'll have a blast shooting it!
