Anyone seen or heard of a modification to a "normal" button type mag release? I think it would be possible, but not by me...

Possible? Yeah, just about anything is possible given the time, inclination and money.
I've never heard of this being done, and would imagine it would be a very expensive process that would involve significant modifications both to the weapon and the magazines by a very competent gunsmith. Frankly I doubt it would be worth it.
If you generally like the 232 but don't like the magazine release I think your best option would be to look at other similar pistols that use a "normal" mag release. (i.e. Bersa, Walther) Other option is to get used to it. Now that I am accustomed to it I have no problem with the 232 as is.
Best of luck!

I don't really mind the release, I could live with it, like my Makarov... the question is for my wife's curiosity. She just picked up a Bersa 'cause she doesn't like the heel release at all, the pinching, the fighting, etc.

I wondered about this also, but after a while I got used to it.
Besides the way it shoots not sure if I would need a secone mag that quick.
It shoots GREAT :)
One of te BEST I have.
PS,
Mines a 230... Same thing only different :)

The 232 is a newer 230
They are virtually identical.
Most of the difference is internals, Sig can make convert the 232 to DAO but not the 230.
More then that ???
