Looks similar to a kubaton. Thoughts?

Strat,
While I haven't had any experience with that ..thing..:scrutiny: in particular, hand weapons generally fall into one of a few categories. Anything hard that you can hold that will focus force will be just fine so long as you know what to aim for, and you're dealing with a person that has normal pain response.
Legally speaking, the pokey between-the-knuckles bit could be considered a knuckle (a la brass knuckles, but some states have provisions against plastic knuckles too!) And you will get scrutiny from police if they get wind of it - better to carry a sturdy pen, AA maglite, etc, than a dedicated weapon. Then instead of "I thought I might get in a fight so I brought along my TALON CLOSE QUARTER IMPACT WEAPON" you can say "Geez, officer, it all happened so fast, I just swiped at him without even thinking to drop the flashlight!"
Mechanically speaking, it does look delightfully smashy, but everybody has their own proprietary design for a knuckle/hammerfist keychain whizzey.
