7.62x39 ammo choices-any non-steel case?

What choices are available in 7.62x39, hopefully in surplus type configuration?
I can't find any discussion which reveals which are non-steel cased, and which have better accuracy reputations.
Probably the steel case is less of an issue than the lacquer-goop coating on the Wolf ammo. And who else goops it up? Or is that a non-issue in 30 caliber?
What kind of price range is there per 1000 for this caliber?
Awaiting data so I can start shooting the Mini-30!

Don't worry about the steel jacket and shoot tons of cheap commie surplus X39. All of my friends who have Mini 30s happily shoot the stuff. It will not hurt your mini.

I agree that the steel jackets and cases are less harmful than most people would have you believe.
If you still don't want to shoot surplus then S&B makes some non-steel ammo, as does Federal and Winchester. I'm sure there are others but that's all I know about offhand.
I don't know of any surplus that's steel-free.

Some may count it as surplus, but IF you can find any Czech stuff, it's pretty good. Another alternative is some S. African stuff, named, "Cheetah". I see this advertised in ShotGun News all the time.
Both are fairly economical and accurate.

If it's the laquer you're not liking, shoot Silver Bear. It has a nickeled case.

Well, for some of us, a bigger issue with the steel case/ammo, is that a lot of the ranges won't let us shoot it. I have a whole case of Wolf ammo that I've got no place to shoot because none of the local ranges will allow me to use it there.
My poor AK hasn't felt the bang of it's native Wolf ammo yet!

I found some "Cheetah" ammo and purchased it over the weekend. I still have yet to fire any. It is actually brass cased and reloadable. There is also a "Silver Bear Match" ammo that has a steel zinc coated case, it does not have any laquer on it. It is supposed to be quite accurate.

I prefer Barnaul brand of 7.62x39 ammo (got case at home). Is supposed to be best quality of SovBlok ammunition. Still cheep cheep by American standards.
