Installing a tac-star side saddle on my 870.I've read I need to put thread locker(red) on the screws that hold the plastic shell holder to the mounting plate.Do I need to put the lock tight on the screws that mount the plate to the receiver as well?Yes,I know mesa tactical is best but...Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks

If you need it, i would suggest Loctite "Blue" because you can remove it later if you ever need to. Locktite Red is not removable and I had a horrible experience scratching-up an AR15 upper mount where I finally had to drill-out the screws.

Same here, it is a good idea to red lock-tite the plastic shell holder to the plate, they will back out over time but don't lock-tite the mounting screws through the action.
The washers will put enough tension on them to keep them in place. With the money you saved on the side saddle you can buy more ammo.

Thanks for the replies.Simmomsguns,That is just what I needed to know.I don't want the holder to come off, ever. If I take saddle off one day,I'll just put the receiver pins back in.Thanks CWL for the blue/red locktight color code.
