Date of H & R Shikari Model 155 45-70

I bought a Harrington & Richardson Shikari model 155 for my son last year. He asked how old it was and I do not know. I know that they started making them in 1972. Does anyone know the system they used for date coding the serial number? The serial number starts with the letters "AL"

The list in the back of the Blue Book covers 1940 to 1982.

The only AL listed is 1973.
