WOOOOW!!!

My friend did this to his NORINCO 1911 at the range, toying with the sear to make it full auto with the CMC 10round magazines, for kicks. What a blast. Would have been really great though if we can only find and use those 1911 drum magazines.

Ahem.

Let's make sure we're not discussing federal felonies, eh?

A 1911 that goes FA by mistake/failure is one thing. Fiddling with it to make it do so is another, at least in the USA.

Carry on.

as mentioned in the video's comments.... cool... but rather pointless.

Would be fun to shoot at the range, but impractical for just about anything else IMO, unless you leave it in semi mode.

Interesting side note in history, if that's a "one of" type of pistol.

That's not THR way! I posted this because it is cool, and legally manufacturered. The only other full-auto pistol I knew of was the G18. Seems this exited first.

Thanks, Coronoch! I agree. Let's keep this THR.

I love that video :) Every time I see it it reminds me of that "belt fed 1911" that was posted around the forums a while ago. :D

Besides any Glock can be made full auto with the FSSG switch on the back of the slide (not pre-86 though) and there's another thing like it that does the same thing to a standard beretta 92, that you put somewhere on the innards of the slide that makes it full auto (also not pre-86) but the fact that this guy made his "1911-A3" as the video named it before 1986 it's just cool :) Mainly because it's one of a kind

Not even real, but a cool video sequence of a 1911 fireing.

That was really cool. Expensive to shoot I'd bet, with todays ammo prices
(.45 not being the cheapest round on the planet) , but really cool.

"...for kicks..." It's going to get him kicked into Club Fed for 10 years. Making an MG, even for laughs is illegal.
Seems to me there was an experimental select fire 1911. Trying to make a machine pistol, as I recall.

This thing is junk...I'm unconvinced its anything compared to a G18...

If old timers did not do things like make a 1911 FA you would not have a G18 . The ATF has killed small arms development in this country ............sad .

I am not saying that 1911s are junk...just this mutant of a 1911.

and I am sure it would not hold water in a test with a G18...but this is also not the point of this thread is it?

Its something neat to look at and I watched it and gave my opinion...I am not trying to start a GLOCK vs 1911 war people :-)

I don't blame you...who'd go to a 1911 V Glock fight with a Glock?! ROTFLMBO. :neener:

Just kidding. I like my Glocks and my 1911s.

That G18 is pretty awesome...ever fired one...rock and roll!!!! Some and highly controlable.

I remember reading an article in Small Arms Review a year or two ago that had a selective fire 1911 based on the Para Ordnance hi cap frame. I don't recall all the details but I thought the inventor/designer had dealings with Armscour in the Phillipines to get the gun manufactured. Never got done for whatever reasons, but the two prototypes in the article seemed to have been well thought out and readily accomplished, with a few changes made to the slide.

I agree. Toying with the sear is not a smart thing to do. But my friend was having fun and I watched it and I had fun watching and I enjoyed it. And that was all to it.

Now that someone raised the 1911vsglock thing, I wonder who has the faster rate of fire.

I love my 1911s though.

Thanks and stay safe everyone.

Talk about your all time muzzle rise. Even with the stock fitted, did you see that thing jump? yikes.

I don't blame you...who'd go to a 1911 V Glock fight with a Glock?! ROTFLMBO.

Yet another one of those beverage though the nose moments, brought to you courtesy of THR. Funniest thing I've read today.
