I am looking to buy spare sights for my Sig 226 and CDNN has them, quite cheaply too (about $2 each!). However, there seems to be a range of sizes involved - 5,6,7 for front and 5,7,9,10 for rear. I am trying to figure out which ones would fit (and won't change the POA).

I looked at my gun and noticed a small number on the side of each, a 6 on the front and an 8 on the rear. Mine are night sights though and CDNN is selling regular ones.

Does anyone know whether these are the same numbers? Can I use lower numbers (since logically, the lower the closer the sights are to the barrel, the more accurate the gun should be), say 5 front and 7 rear (maintaining the difference of 2, same as my current ones)? I can't find any meaningful info on this and would appreciate any tips.

Thanks

JP

SIG's rule is "Numbers up, impact up; Numbers down, impact down. This is true whether it concerns the front or rear sights."
