I'd love to get some shooting in. I get out once in awhile but it gets a little old shooting alone. Where do you shoot at? I live in Clarksville and work in Ashland City.

Hi. I live in Clarksville, too. My preferred place to shoot is at the Cheatham Co. range. You're left alone to actually shoot, you know? Sometimes, if I'm pressed for time, I go shoot behind Binkley's. I also go to the new range in Southside but I prefer the lack of officials and ceasefires at the Cheatham Co. range. Bill

Woad Yurt, I live in Nashville, spent 20 years in Clarksville, spend a lot of time at Cheatam range. Wanna go shooting? say when.

I'm in Clarksville as well. I usually go to Binkley's, and on occasion out to the ASP indoor range in Joelton. Havent been to the new sport shooting complex yet.

I shoot @ ASP in Joelton as well. When it's cold out, the Mrs. and I get up there once in awhile on Fridays (women shoot free on Friday).
I'm very busy but if we can coordinate a time to get some shooting in, I'm all for it.

My schedule is hectic to say the least, but I'm sure I could sneak away for a few as well.

I am in Clarksville. I like KY Shell Shop in Hopkinsville, must be a member. I also go to Cheatham and have been to Long Hunter in Nashville.
My most favorite place is Whittaker Guns up near Owensboro Ky, Shotgun, pistol and a 300 yard rifle range. No close supervision unless you do something stoopid. Also near Whittaker's gun store!
I work a rotating 12 hour shift so it is hard to get out sometimes.
How about someone set up a time/place to get together?

I'm also in Clarksville. Just got here a few months ago.
With work and the kids though the schedule is hectic to say the least. Hard to make many plans.
I really need to do some shooting.
Can someone post the addresses for the places you're talking about shooting at, I'm not sure where any of them actually are.
Are they indoor or outdoor? Which ones do you prefer?
Thanks!

Since I started this one, I'm going to try and get all the social bees organized. We need to settle on a specific day at the Cheatham County TWRA range. A weekday is preferable because, if a few of us go, we won’t need to wait around to shoot as the place is empty during the week. It's roughly in between Clarksville and Nashville (roughly!) There is a country store/gas station at which you have to get your range ticket:
Swaw's is a 4-5 minute drive from the actual range; bring ID. Call them for directions or you can use something like Yahoo Maps if so inclined. Note: Mapquest messed me up with this address.
If you haven't gone to this range before, there is no attendant, snack bar or toilet. So, bring ice, toilet paper, or whatever you’ll need. If you’re female, there is plenty of cover in which to excrete privately; just head for the tree line. Bring a chair if you want to sit; regular height stools, like a bar stools, are a little too high for the shooting benches they have there. Also, bring a stapler or tape if you want to use paper targets. This range, while crude and unattended, is good if you want get some shooting done. Cease-fires are by consensus, not called every 15 minutes like some places.
There are 4-5 50 yard & 6-7 100 yard rifle positions and, for pistols, there are about 4-5 25 yard spots. But, you can set something up a little closer if you want to. You can put some clay pigeons, tin cans or Evian bottles on the berm, or you can hang a paper target, whatever you want. There’s a dumpster there for your shot-up trash.
Dates: Some folks here have told me that Fridays are especially good for them. Friday, Oct. 12, is good for me. However, I have Oct. 6 to the 14th (inclusive) free so a weekend day is also fine. I'll probably go 2X during this time span, once during the week and once on a weekend. If you’d like to meet up anytime from Oct. 6-14, private message me with the dates that are good for you and I’ll post the results so we can all see if we can agree on a convenient day. Remember, meeting there on weekdays almost guarantees that we’ll have to place to ourselves. I have a big, cushy van so I can take a few of you from Clarksville. If you do ride with me, however, please don’t be in a time crunch as I probably won’t be one of the first ones to leave.
On a personal note, I like older, antique or C&R-type stuff so if you have anything out of the ordinary, please bring it; I like to look. Hopefully, I’ll have my reloading stuff producing .38 S&W (it’s been really frustrating!) by then so it won’t cost me too much to play with my Ivers or the old MKIII. Thanks.

I'm game for Oct. 12th. I'll be at the Goodman show on the 13th so that Saturday is definetely not doable.
Any weekday during the weeks of the 7th-13th or the 21st-27th are fine with me as well.

I would love to make it.
Once the date is set I'll try to be there.
Most weekends should work for me, can't do the weekdays unless it's Federal Holiday.
Hope to see you all there!

It seems that we have 2 factions (factions, damnable factions!) here, folks who can go during the week and weekenders.
For the weekend folks, how about Saturday, Oct 6? Going so far: 2
For the weekday folks, how is Friday, Oct 12? Going so far: 3
I'm going on both days.

Well, it seems I'll be working on Fridays and Saturdays, though only until 3pm on Saturdays. I'm generally only truly free at the beginning of the week, Sundays and Mondays specifically.

The range targets are in need of repair. If any who are coming happen to have a few 2x4s or fiber board lying around, please bring them and we can rebuild some of the targets. 2x4 studs would be great. The date is Oct. 12 at about 12:00. I will be there then.

Hey don, I'll try to bring some scrap wood out. I usually have alot of it sitting around depending on what's going on that week. I'll bring a chain saw and drill as well so we can cut the wood to the lengths we need.
I plan to be there on the 12th around 12:30 or so.

To the Oct 6 & 12 TWRA/Ashland City range group(s): Bring some wire coat hangers so we can hang the 2x4s on the metal posts. I'm going to bring 2 2x4s but have no extra coat hangers.

Er... Guys, I just came back from Cheatham gun range and there are new places to staple your targets to. Disregard my requests for materials. Someone has replaced all the shot-up target stands. there should be no problem. I apologize for the error- I'll commit pentence.Edict, thanks for the offer and others who may have offered.
