I LOVE my LMF II. It is my main general purpose fixed blade. The first day I got it, I batoned through all kinds of hardwood with it. The Sandvik steel held its edge very well. I've sharpened it twice on a Sharpsmaker and it honed right up. Once I used the sharpener that is build into the sheath but it seemed a bit hard on the edge geometry so I'd only use those if I were way out in the bush. It is a little bulky for belt carry but I usually carry my sheath knife on my pack anyway with a folder clipped to my front pocket.
I don't have any complaints although I did have some reservations about serrations since I usually prefer a plain edged knife. On this blade, I really like the serrations for cutting fibrous material such as vine or thicker rope. The blade is long enough that if I need a plain edge for say whittling something, there is plenty to get the job done.
My LMF II already has scratches all over the flats of the blade and the sheath smells like campfire...overall I give it an excellent rating.

Best knife I've ever had!!! This knife is very strong, handles well, has a very comfortable , electrically isolated handle, useful combo edge , and a pommel that will go through hell and back. It was worth every penny I paid for it last year.
the sheath is indistructable hard rubber-like material. it can be a little on the difficult side to pull the knife from the sheath, its made to be a tight, strong fit. if worn on the hip you will need to use the leg strap. usually i wear it on my MOLLIE vest.
this knife is my Ragnarock, Armageddon, SHTF, End of the World knife for a reason. buy one now before they get as expensive as the MK II, LMF and BMF, and the big bowie knife, which now go for hundreds. two thumbs way up! - Eric

LA Police Supply has them cheap but they always seem to go backorder. I was going to get one until I started reading that it may take weeks before the order is filled. I opted to get the Ontario SpII USAF survival knife. It was less than 40 dollars, and is overall a really nice blade.
Do a search on either and you will see the price differences between the blades. The only gripe about the Ontario is the sheath. The LMF II sheath is way nicer.
