Hi all,
What course of fire and size of target, into which all rounds had to fall or cut the edge of, was to be used in the "Accuracy Test"? This was under the Inspector's Guide for the M1 Garand Rifle during WW2.
Have fun with this one.
Thanks again

Hi all,
The answer to the quiz is as follows:
"At a range of 100 yards, using a fired or muzzle and elbow rest, each rifle shall be fired at least one series of five rounds of U. S. Government, caliber .30 standard service ball ammunition, of known accuracy. All shots shall be within or cut the edge of a circle three inches in diameter."
You must remember these M1 Garand rifles let the US be the only country in the World to enter into WW2 with a semi-automatic rifle as standard issue. Yes, they can be tuned but for a mass production combat weapon system the above standard was what was needed at the time.
Thanks again
class is dismissed
