I've often heard good things about Dillons customer service, but I've never needed them until this week.

The other morning I had occasion to call them because I had purchased a conversion kit, and one threaded part had been poorly machined and the threads were all honked up. They shipped me a replacement the same day, no questions, no hassles, no nada.

Absolutely outstanding, those folks just got themselves a lifetime customer.

Yeah, they're great.

I've had good experience with them, both on the phone and over the counter. It seems that everyone who works there knows their extensive product line expertly, or can call someone back in the shop to come up front & comment at length on the history & revisions of the product they are responsible for.

Sure, Dillon's products are a bit pricey - but i've never been gypped on a Dillon product. :)

And people wonder how come there are legions of followers.

Quick note, I was doing some quick reloading for a trip to S.A. I ended up getting TWO .36-06 cases stuck. Dillon didn't lecture, they just fixed the problem. I got the rest of the loads done and had a successful hunt.

The lube that I have had many problems with was One-shot. Since switching to Frankford Arsenal I haven't even come close to sticking any brass.

And from what I know, if its heavily used, Dillon will still honor the lifetime warranty and even give it a complete overhaul for you.

FWIW, having done the conversion from 9mm to .45 on my square deal, I should have just bought another press. The toolhead change is np, but swapping from small to large primers was pretty fussy.

I have a SDB on which I reload 45 Auto exclusively. In fact, I recently sent it back to Dillon for an overhaul. The press is at least 15 years old. They do have excellent customer service. That said, I bought a Hornady LnL a few months ago and I love it. I am only reloading .223 and .40 S&W on it right now. I will keep the blue machine for 45 and not go with a caliber conversion for it, especially since the LnL is so easy (and less expensive) than the SDB with it's proprietary dies.

My Dillon is a SDB and I love it for small cases up to 357. I haven't loaded 45 ACP; I bet it works well.
The SDB feels "overworked" when sizing 45 Colt brass. When I load 45 Colt I resize all the brass on a single stage press. I then start on station #2 on the SDB. Not ideal but it works for me.
I've heard a lot of good reports on the LnL.

Dillon is a class act. They replace worn-out parts that would be beyond warranty in any other industry. I had good support from RCBS and Hornady as well.

I love my Super 1050.

However, it was 15 years since my first experience with Dillon before I bought it.

I called them on their no BS guarantee right after the "cadillac of primer flip trays" wouldn't flip a primer. They would not replace it. I was pretty hot, and had nothing but bad to say about them for the last 15 years.

The 1050 is outstanding in every way.

Just don't buy the flip tray! ;)

Yep, I've used 'em for years.... ten or so... and have worn out things on my 550B from my tens of thousands of rounds of reloads. More often, though, operator error on my part (whoops, bent that/lost that/overtorqued it):eek:

Nah, they come through every time. Calm folks who will listen to your story and give you solid advice, backed with great warranty. The little paper clip thing on the 550 got bent once and I asked 'em to send me two - since it'd just cost them if I ever want another. No sweat, they sent two.:D

Their products are at LEAST as good as anyone else's (IMHO, better) and their support and warranty are second to none. I've reloaded for nearly 40 years and when I need something, I look in their catalog first.

We called up Dillon after we bought a used XL650 off Craigs List, ($450 with accessories :what::D:neener:

UPS had buggerfied the boxes and some small parts were missing, (mainly locator pins).

Told Dillon customer service what we were missing, they said no problem and shipped it right out.

Am currently saving my pennies for a case feeder, powder hoppers, conversion kits and the list goes on and on....
