Old shotgun safety question

I recently purchased a Marswell 1915 16 ga. Then, as luck would have it, I came across a boatload of 2 3/4 inch, 2 1/2 DR, 1 oz lead bird load at a yard sale. What are your recommendations on running the ammo through the Marswell 1915?

Thanks,
Scott

My opinion doesn't really matter, as I can't get hands on the gun in question to examine it.

My best advice is that you get a qualified gunsmith to inspect it and render an informed decision based on hands-on examination. You'll want to make sure the gun does not have twist steel barrels, and that its chamber(s) are in fact 2 3/4", and that it is safe to fire with the ammunition in question.

What Lee said. Many short chambered shotguns are out there, firing modern ammo off in them in neither safe nor fun.

ANY pre WWII shotgun should be gone over by a smith you'd trust with your life, because you are.

Also, any laminated, twist or Damascus barrels falll into the category of decorations rather than tools.

Shotguns and grenades have similar working pressures.
