A .444 marlin necked down? Never heard of that, but if it shoots good why not? Do you know the speed you are getting out of the guns?

This would be a really good thread for the handguns forum!

Bartkowski,

the 444 necked down to 30 caliber will push a 125 gr. bullet to 2,700 fps., a 150 gr. bullet to 2,600 fps. and a 165 gr. bullet to 2,500 fps. and all from 14 inch barrels...

The 250 Savage Improved-Rimmed will push the 85 gr. Ballistip to just over 3,000 fps. from a 15 inch barrel...

The 6.5X444 Improved will push the 140 gr. Match bullets to 2,600 fps. and 100 gr. varmint bullets to over 3,000 fps...

We take the 444 Marlin case all the way down to .22 caliber....
