I’ll lend you for a little time a child of mine, He said ...
For you to love the while she lives ... and mourn for when she’s dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two and three,
But will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me?
She’ll bring her charms to gladden you. And shall her stay be brief, You’ll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from Earth return.
But there are lessons, taught down there, I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked the wide world over in search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes, I have selected you.
Now ... will you give her all your love ... nor think the labor in vain?
Nor ... hate me when I come to call ... to take her back again?
I fancied that I heard you say ...
“Dear Lord, it will be done!
“For all the joy Your Child shall bring, the risk of grief we’ll run.
“We’ll shelter her with tenderness. We’ll love her while we may,
“And for the happiness we’ve known ... forever grateful stay.
“But shall the angels call for her much sooner than we’ve planned,
“We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes ... and try to understand.”

Nightwatch,

That is horrible news. I am so sad and my payers go out to you and your family.

Everyone else .. go tell someone you love how much they mean to you. There is nothing worse then wanting to love someone that is no longer with us. Dont wait, tell them now.

I am so sorry.

Are you married? If so, please, during this time of sorrow, make sure that you give your wife and yourself much patience and understanding. Do the same for your surviving children. The death of a child, because of all the stress and suffering, quite often kills a marriage. Don't let that happen to your family.

Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family. Be comforted that Alexandria is in a very safe place. It is our belief that she is sinless because of her youth, therefore perfect. She took with her the love she had for you and all those she cared about. Let that same love strengthen you and bind you to those you care for as well. Live in a manner that would please her. Cherish her in your memories. Alexandria (Alex??) will always be with you.
We mourn not for those that have passed away, but for those that are left behind. Those of us here mourn with you. We share your loss that you may receive some comfort and to help lighten your painful burden as best we can. We in turn receive strength from you and your example. We resolve to pay a little more attention to our own children, to love our spouses or significant others and to make sure we say I love you – just a little more often.

Have Faith.

Prayers and blessings,
Sam

Nightwatch,

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family in your time of grief.

Alexandra was a beautiful child - I sit here with tears in my eyes trying to imagine how you must feel, and knowing that I cannot even approach the depth of your sadness.

I hope you find consolation in your faith, friends and family. Please know that I am grieving with you, even though we have never met.

Condolences. I had a cousin who died at the same age. Many years later, whenever I think of him, it still seems like something that wasn't supposed to have happened. You miss them and also all that you realize they missed. Keep her in your heart and know you're not alone.

I apologize for any misunderstanding. I believe I posted correctly in the request for prayer thread originally posted. She was not my daughter. She was my cousins daughter. I have no children. Had she been my daughter, I doubt very much that I would have been able to function as I am now. So again, although my entire family is suffering this loss, I apologize for any misunderstandings.

I do request prayer for her mother, who is being deeply medicated and struggling to survive this. Again, thank you so much for your prayers at this time. The mothers name is Janet. Thank you.
