#1. Will this fit on an M4A3 with an Izzy flash suppressor?
#2. What type of ammunition is required to use a rebar cutter properly or effectively?
Here is a link to the item.

It's the bottom-most item on the page.
Thanks!

WHAT?
Doesn't everyone just use either a cutoff wheel or big-ass bolt cutters for rebar? WHY does everyone think that the ultimate solution to The World's Problems involves shooting something?

Good questions. Better find answers before you try it out. :)
Looks like they sell them $20 less at http://www.pkfirearms.com/store/get_items.aspx?type=1&term=13
Incidentally, if you're thinking of speeding things up on the jobsite, I'm pretty sure OSHA wouldn't approve. :p

I'd be seriously hesitant to use such a device for a number of reasons...
Seriously - I'm somewhat curious as to how the thing is supposed to operate, but why bother? I'd think the use you'd get out of the thing would be minimal at best, and you'd probably stand a good chance of screwing up yourself and your gun.

Shooting something may not be the utimate solution, but it is the funnest.

I wasn't asking to be critiqued. I just want to know if it will fit on an M4 A3 Izzy suppressor and what type of ammo would be used to make the device work properly.
I'm well aware of the risks! :-)
Thanks!

I've seen these before. I've never heard of someone actually using one, however. If you do get one, please be certain to take video of yourself using it for the sake of both science and hilarity.
Good luck!

I've never been attacked by rebar, but I guess its better to have and not need...
It may sound trite, but why would you need to cut rebar with a rifle. I've never heard of anyone using that techniqe. We always used bolt cutters, sawsall, cutting wheels, or explosives. I think its just another "special forces" weenie trying to sell high priced crap no one will ever use but sounds cool.

Well, think about it. There's an Earthquake, and some people are trapped in a collapsed building. Imagine there relief when you call to them through the rebar of a crumbling wall and tell them you'll just get your tool and then you'll cut them out. ...And then you come back with a rifle and start shooting!:neener:

Armor piercing ammo like regular ball ammo the armed services use.

I can't tell from the picture but it looks like it isn't big enough to cut very big rebar. The few walls I have breached, in fire and rescue training I am more low speed high drag than the other way around, the rebar has been much bigger.

Well I called a gun shop and it won't fit the A3 models. Only the A2 standard flash suppressor. I suppose that I want the cutter for just incase purposes.
I'm one of those people that tries to foresee all options/scenarios/outcomes I guess...

I don't think that thing would cut rebar over about 1/4", and that might be pushing it, unless you have a beta mag worth of AP ready to go. I have used rebar for target stands because of the fact that even steel core 7.62 won't break it with a direct hit unlike 2X4s, and that is the small 3/8 stuff, not the 3/4" structural stuff.
I have used a pneumatic cutter before that looks somewhat similar, basically for cutting padlocks, cables and bolts. it had a ? shaped end where the lock was hooked, and used an air hammer chisel to cut. If this thing uses a type of chisel attachment, and blanks to slam it into the bar (similar to how a ramset drives a nail into concrete), I guess it could work.
I think as far as looks go, it is the gun equivalent of "coffee can" exhaust tips, you know, the bone stock Honda civic with a 5" chromed tailpipe sticking out a foot from the bumper, well to each their own.

Yes! It will cut up to 1" size rebar!
It should fit if the Izzy is mil-spec diameter, with the rifle grenade notch in the correct place.
There should be no difference in the A-1 & A-2 flash-hider. They have to be the same size for a bayonet or blank adapter to fit.
BTW: What is an A-3 flash-hider? I've not heard of one.
Use Mil-Spec Green-Tip SS-109 or M-855 ammo only. Anything else won't have the steel penetrator tip and will just blow up on the re-bar.
BTW: You can "shoot your eye out doing this"!
It is intended more for high-risk combat use, where a little bullet shrapnel stuck in you may be the lessor of two evils. (The other being trapped by re-bar after you blow an exit hole through a stucco mud wall to get away from a greater danger!)
