What's your Holy Grail?

Similar to the "What's your Excalibur" thread...but different angle. I want to know what your "Holy Grail" handgun is. By this, I mean the handgun that you WILL have someday. (no fantasy guns like Star Trek phasers or Star Wars blasters) This isn't just *A* handgun that you want, but it's thehandgun you don't have, but dearly want...maybe you dream about it, maybe you lust over it, but it's the one that no matter what else you might get first, you ARE going to get this one. And, be sure to post make, model, and caliber! (any other details as well, ie: pre-ban/LE only/hi-cap mags, tritrium sights, etc) Pictures are always fun to drool over too! :D
Mine? Walther P99 in 9mm with hi-cap mags. Black.

Browning HP or the new FN High Power. The BHP was the first gun I ever owned but sold it. Deeply regret it now. I think some people here understand what that means.
Can't get one any time soon unfortunately. But I'm keeping my eyes open and the saving up has begun......

My "baby" would be a SIG 232....not exactly an exotic gun, or even an expensive gun.....Just one that I have wanted for a while, will buy someday, and just havent found a good excuse to yet.
The only thing keeping me from it is the caliber....I despise 380...If they came out with one in 9mm Id be all over it.
SIG 239 is a close runner up....nice compact package, and available in 9mm. Im gonna have to get one of those.

SRYndian, is this what you're talking about: SIG Neuhausen P210-1 9mm Mint (http://gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=10100853)
Here's some of the item's description: SIG Neuhausen P210-1 9mm pistol. This is the rare version with polished blue finish and wood grips. Condition is mint, unfired. 1955 manufacture, no importer's markings.
And of course, none of this would be appropriate without pictures:

I've got to admit, it's a beauty.
And as for my reply to the thread ... right now it's a Compact/Officer's Model 1911. There's others I want, too, but that's my "must have."

A Smith and Wesson Triple Lock in 44 Special comes high on the list.
Jimmy Clark 38 Special wadcutter 1911 pistol. Really nice pistol.
Anything by Armand Swenson.
Then.....
Original Colt SAA, in shootable condition.
Colt Woodsman Match Target.
S&W pre 27 with 3.5 barrel.
Colt 1911 (pre A1) in nickle.
These are the ones I really lust after. And I would also like
Ruger 44 Blackhawk, the small version.
S&W Chief's Special round butt.
Ruger Service Six, and S&W M19 like I used to carry in the Border Patrol.
Okay, I got carried away.... it happens.....

arinvolvo: I feel the same way...except for the caliber. :p I would love a P232, as they are very nice guns with excellent fit and finish, and they fit my hand well. My only gripe is the cost of the ammo. But your criteria for it is almost perfect....it's not a "only if i won the lottery" gun, it's not extra special or expensive, or practically unobtanium...but you still want it. Just not badly enough. ;)

I'll second the vote for an Ed Brown Kobra, although I'd prefer the full-size rather than the carry model.
Another Holy Grail would be a gun that I honest-to-God could have had: an 1890's vintage Colt SAA, nickel, factory-engraved, and in better than 95% condition. I was just too stupid to realize that it was a very good trade for a Jag XKE.

The one I wanted for years is the .500 Linebaugh that Clements built for me.
.500 Linebaugh by Clements (http://www.imageevent.com/fiveshooter/clements)
Several years ago it was a premier grade Freedom Arms .454 but now I have a few Freedom Arms guns so I got to lusting after something else.
This year I decided I had to have one of the S&W 500s, Mine should arrive at my dealers next week.
Then I got the wants for a custom Ruger Bird'shead .32 Vaquero with ajustable sights added. David Clements is doing this one for me now.
I guess what I am trying to say is that the one I want "most" is the one I am getting next.
One I don't have but want is a Freedom Arms Model 97 in .45 Colt with 4.25" Octagon barrel and adjustable sights.
Someday I will get one of these if I can get the extra $$.

Semi -auto - Probably a Les Baer 45 auto. Fired one last time I was in NC and it was a shooter! The owner was shooting one-handed bullseye style at 25 yards and had one ragged hole. He let me shoot a couple of strings - again one handed - and there was still only that one ragged hole! No , I did not miss the target!
Rimfire -Would like to find one of the older Smith Model 17s - one that will really shoot. Owned a 617 and it was a dog! The only Smith I ever owned that would not shoot.
Centerfire revolver - A Freedom Arms in 357 Mag would be nice - a revolver that would give my TC Contender 357 a run for its money in accuracy!

They were made for the civilian market in countries where the citizenry is not allowed to buy military calibers, like Italy or Mexico. Since 9x21 has no advantages over 9x19, and costs more to buy over here (if you can even get it), there has never been a market for the Beretta 98 here. Still, a neat collector's item, not very common over here.

I understand your question and you have received some very good answers. I take a different tac. My answer would be our Constitution and the Bill of rights. Yes, I have recieved some excellent answers. They're great ideas for the next gun I get. ;) And you do have an excellent point...but it's not quite a correct answer. See, my interpretation of a "Holy Grail" is like in Monty Python...that for which you strive to get, not that which you already have and consider to be holy of holies (eg, the Constitution and Bill of Rights)...UNLESS, you mean that you want them to be followed as they were written. This means that all the laws that have been created/enacted since then (1934, 1986?, 1994), as well as all the restrictions that states have imposed (well, most..maybe all), would be stricken. THAT is certainly a worthwhile "Holy Grail."

The original SIG P210 is properly called the SIG Neuhausen IIRC.
That's just the "informal" name for it, from where it is made. The Swiss military adopted it as the "9mm Pistole Modell 1949" or "P49" and the Danish military called it the M/49. Commercial models from 1949 on were called the P210.

A blued S&W Pre-war Registered Magnum. Barrel length, stocks, sights are unimportant as long as it is a REAL blued Registered Magnum and has all the stuff: Box, papers, certificate, etc.
Short of that, a blued Pre-27 5-inch barrel, 5-screw, S-serial prefix gun with real elephant ivory Skeeter Skelton-style stocks. Sights are not important, but would like a 24K McGivern bead.

S&W M-13 Aircrewman. Not to shoot, just to have.
Pachmayr Dominator in 7mm-08.
One of the first batches of alloy-framed Kahr K9's. (Yeah, sure, when pigs fly)
7.62x25 Tokarev barrel for 5" 1911 variants.
Magnum Research BFR in .45-70 (Which will eventually happen, not a matter of "if", but "when"...)
S&W Schofield replica, either S&W or Navy Arms.
S&W Heritage Series model 24, color case-hardened in .44 Special. Again, not rare, but a matter of "when".

A revolver in .454, probably a Super Redhawk, but a Freedom Arms if I ever get that kind of $$$ together.
A good 1911 w/nightsights to replace my Kimber that was stolen years ago.
A Taurus M85 in titanium w/bobbed hammer.
My wants may be a bit more modest than some others on this thread, but these are the ones I have some chance of acquiring without my wife leaving me. :)

H&K usp - [variant #1] - full sized - chambered in 10mm.
Send pistol to - Teddy Jacobson = trigger job.

The P210s are not available, new, in CA so they are pretty much out. I like the idea of a highly accurate 9mm but I haven't even held a P210. I'm not sure how well we would get along.
I have been seriously thinking about a Les Baer SRP with the 1 1/2 inch option.

I too have always wanted a genuine Thompson SMG, but I don't see that happening.
So for now, my Holy Grail is my Valtro 1998A1 .45ACP that I have on order.
I suppose a nice Freedom Arms .357 would be nice too.

Mine is alot less exotic than many of yours!
I would be a happy guy once and for all if I came across a 2-Tone CZ-75 PCR or Compact. Add the Hakan grips and all I'd ever need after that would be ammo for the beasts.
