WT *, Even Walker has dumped the Beretta!!
Island Beretta

Normally these things do not trouble me but I caught a glimpse of Walker Texas Ranger last night and in a fight scene I saw him pull what was not a Beretta. Looks like a CZ or S&W. Somewhat surprised I said to myself even he has changed from the Beretta..one thing is certain the gun he had was smaller and flatter and it did work..
Am I missing something here?..it seems that with so much reliable, accurate, durable, COMPACT and LIGHTER handguns around the Berettas are falling behind..
I am indeed unhappy:( Maybe I should get a G17-up or G26-down to accompany my G19 and go fully over to the darkside or maybe I need some snob appeal + all the other goodies and should go HK USPs, Walther P99.
Tell me something good, cheer me up:uhoh:

I don't recall Walker ever carrying a Beretta.
In the opening season I think he carried a satin nickel SIG 220,
next was a 4" bbl SW 629 44.
I believe he lost it in drug raid explosion and his buddies gave him a fancy Taurus 9mm and tooled belt holster as a get well gift.
I know it was a Taurus because it had the deeper hooked trigger guard and a frame mounted safety.
The next pistol for only a couple of shows was a SW PC 945 next came the SW PC CQB or Recon 45 this he used up to show finale.
BTW his pals carried a Walther P5 9mm and SW PC Recon 9mms.

Actually, Trivett (sp) his partner carried a Sig 226 in the first episode(s) and switched to the Walther later.

Well Bnbc,
I always thought it was a Beretta, I stand corrected!! The Taurus is in fact based on the earlier Berettas.

Island, it's the pointy, little elf boots that they wear. You'd do crazy things too if your feet were pinched all day.:D

I'm embarrassed to even admit that I know this, but Walker switched to a S&W for the final season or two of the show. It think it was a PC CQB model.

I can honestly say that I saw part of 1 episode of Walker Texas Ranger.
I can also honestly say that the acting was SO pathetic as to make the show unwatchable.

I'm going to have to agree with Mike on this one.
I have to explain that I know that Walker switched to a S&W because it was discussed over on the S&W forum.
I've never forgiven CBS for cancelling "Raven" and replacing it with "Walker".
Ok, that's a little embarrassing as well....

Now I ask you....Just why in the heck would Ranger Walker (aka Sheriff Chuck) need a Roscoe anyway?

Well I have this gun, but I'm just going to kick and punch you instead, even though you are shooting at me.
Main reason why I can't stand Walker:TR or any other martial arts style show when the good guy could dodge bullets from an MG-42 for example with ease. (But then again thats almost any Hollywierd action flick also)

Doncha know? That's because the GG's are all crack shots, but would rather just beat up a guy....more satisfying. The BG's are all poor shots, which is why they never hit the GG's. :neener:

Walker is still on TV? Or can I just blame sindication & cable programming? :scrutiny:

Let's see - - -
I believe that early on, the lead character carried a six or 6-1/2" barrel S&W magnum in a cross draw holster. Right there, I decided that authenticity was gonna suffer A LOT in the series. And the beard. Oh, yes, the beard! And the BIG pick-em-up truck!
DPS publishes an official group photo of the entire Ranger force every year, and I've never seen a Ranger with a beard.
The State MAY furnish big 4x4s to some of the guys along the border, but I've never seen one.
DPS issues SiG pistols to 'em, but Rangers can carry pretty much whatever they want. - - 1911s, mostly, and the occasional Browning HP, and a few revolvers. Never seen a long barrel on one, though, and nary a single cross draw. A minor scandal rippled across the state when it was rumored that a Ranger was seen carrying a Glock, but if it was true, they hushed it up pretty well. . . .
Right after the series began airing, I was joking with the "Technical Advisor" for the series, a retired Ranger, and mentioned a couple of these items. He just kinda smiled and said, "Well, they asked how it is really done, and I told 'em. They did it their way anyhow. I pointed out a bunch of errors, and they said it didn't really matter - - That this was tee vee. I keep on telling them and they keep on doing it their way. They keep on writing the checks, though." :D
At least, the exteriors were authentic. They based the entire production in the Fort Worth--Dallas--Denton area, and I saw a lot of places I know. They filmed a lot of stuff on the steps of the Tarrant County court house.
Oh, and yes, they discontinued production on the series a couple of years ago, but it still has a lot of play in syndication.
Best,
Johnny

"When your in Texas look behind you, cause thats where the Ranger gonna be." Hahaha! That is part of the theme song for the show. Does anyone else wonder what the "Ranger" is doing behind us in Texas?:scrutiny: I knew I didn't like Texas for some reason.:D
I have watched this show once or twice only because it is so bad that it sort of hypnotises you. It is like your in a trance or something.
I'm glad he doesn't have a Beretta or I would have to get rid of mine.

I don't mind having a Ranger behind me...
Somebody's got to cover me while I reload :D ...
And it beats having a Brewer in front of me :what: ...

As a recovering TV addict, I admit that I watched many Walker episodes in the early-mid seasons. I finally came around when I ceased being able to look myself in the mirror (or maybe it was when Chuck started singing the theme song. I forget which). I replaced it with Buffy for a higher level of acting and entertainment.
