Can anyone recommend a decent red dot that doesn't cost more than $200? I'm looking for something to put on a bunch of my AK carbines that's more durable/reliable/trustworthy than, say, a Tasco but less pricey than a CompM4.

I've been looking into the Russian KOBRA sights.

They are made for AK47s, although I'm more interested in the weaver rail versions.

They are priced around $200 and the feedback I've gotten from owners/users has been positive.

I have a Millet red dot on a S&W 22 target and they are great.
They are machined, no plastic and the batteries last forever.
I have been banging mine around for over 5 years now.
I paid 99.95 for it at a gun show.

Done. Just got a PK-AS on my WASR and could not be more satisfied.

UltraDot. Nothing else in their price range is even close.

Take a look a the Bushnell Trophy. Four(!) dial-in electronic reticles.

Well I've had this model for a while and used it on my SAM-7 and on this ar-15 it has been great I think you'll be happy with it.

Still working on this one; I came into a couple of used Aimpoints and that staved me off for a while.

Has anyone used an Ultradot Match?

Yes, I have heard good stuff about that one...

"Has anyone used an Ultradot Match?"

I have, but only on pistols. I've never had a red dot on a rifle.

Ultradot = quality.

I personally think the Eotech is worth the extra money - I saw an ad for a new one in the latest Shotgun News today - some dealer selling them for $295 or $300. The N Battery 511 version!

I'd look at C-more or OKO, both can be had in the $200 range. I vastly prefer open-tube to closed-tube red dot sights.

I've got nothing to do with the vendor, but it's an all metal and glass sight for a good price.
