It looks as if we're going to get a Yugo SKS after we wait 8-10 long weeks for our Buckmark to get reapaired and then sell it. With the money from the Buckmark, we will buy the SKS. Any, is Wolf Surplus ammo any good? It's in Cabelas for $95 for 1000 rounds. Should we get that?

I've gone through a couple thousand rounds of Wolf in my Vepr 7.62x39. No problems.
I've also had very good luck with Barnaul, which is very similar, and available for around the same price.

Russian stuff isn't surplus. It's brand new. It just happens to be cheap.
I too prefer Barnaul over Wolf ammo. -Although your SKS should be able to digest any ammo without trouble.

I run a ton of Wolf through my Ak. I've never seen a dud.
I stick to brass cases in my AR, though.
