Ruger VLE .308

Folks,
This was an impulse rifle I bought a while back because the price was right.
It is supposedly a "tactical" application rifle with "limited availability" to non-LEOs, and all that hoopla.
Never shot it beyond 100-yard sight-in. Cloverleafed using match ammo.
Anyone own one, shot one, or can let me know if this is really a varmint-quality rifle? Your opinions are apprreciated.

I've never heard of this model; does it have a grey laminate stock?

Yup, oversized grey laminated stock, free-floated heavy barrel. Comes with harris bipod. Supposedly only available for LEO purchase

Ok I have seen this; it's essentially the same thing as Ruger’s varmint/target models except for the coloration of the stock. I think the ‘LEO only’ thing is just marketing. I like the rifle I just wish they’d put it in a heavy McMillian or HS Precision style synthetic stock. I kind of dig their ‘target gray’ finish on the metal work.
