Dear CCRNers:
MPPA was a great victory; be proud! Here's the next one.
We'll mount a court challenge to the city & county gun bans.
Here's *why*:
* The gun bans will stop *all* gun shows, hunter education, and firearm safety training in public venues. This effects our sportsman as much as us.
* The gun bans violate Minnesota's firearms preemption statute. This political ploy is a step towards repealing preemption. Repealing preemption means a return to the bad old days of different and confusing firearms laws in *every* city and county.
We'll make the court challenge, and succeed, on our terms.
We will choose the time and place.
CCRN is setting up a legal defense fund: CCRN-LDF. We figure it will cost at least $20,000. It'll take a paid staff and legal team. And yes, the CCRN-LDF needs money.
For now, there are three things for us to do:
1. Keep the pressure on city councils and county boards to reject gun bans on publicly-owned property. Keep after them, week after week.
2. Remind your legislators that weakening preemption is not an option. Talk to them over the summer.
3. Send $30.00 payable to "CCRN-LDF" at

Everyone needs to pitch in: MPPA supporters, trapshooters, plinkers, and deer hunters.
