I just bought a set of RCBS dies for .357 mag off of ebay, but when they came to me, there is no instructions. I've always used Lee dies (cheapskate), so I'm at a bit of a loss. Anyone out there use these who can tell me how many turns and such? They seem like better made dies than the Lee.

Okie: Call RCBS at (800)533-5000. I'd bet they'll comp you an instruction sheet and you'll have it by next week. You didn't say if they had the carbide sizer. If so just kiss the holder with the die at the top of your ram stroke and tighten right there. Same with the expander. Back the seating die at least a full turn off the shell holder to start. It will crush the case if flush with the holder. Get the seating depth. Then lose the seating plug, back the die off a few more turns and work down to the proper crimp 1/8 turn at a time. That's what the directions say, but I've found I need to start higher than the initial one full turn back to set the seating depth, otherwise the die is already crimping too much on that case.

R.C.B.S. dies are very well made. I bought a set of .357 magnum dies in the 1970s that still work just fine. R.C.B.S.'s customer service is tops!

It was too late to call RCBS yesterday, so I put in an email to them, but somehow I knew someone on here would be faster to point me in the right direction. It's kinda scary when you think of just how much knowledge is lurking around on this board.

RCBS reloading dies set up in the press exactly the same as Lee dies.
The only thing you'll get with the RCBS printed material are clearer pictures and more concise instructions. :)

Well, it took RCBS alittle longer than you guys, but I just recieved an email saying that my instruction booklet is on the way. That's the kind of customer service I like, especially when I haven't really given them a dime yet. But I have been needing a set of 8mm dies, care to guess who will get the dimes for those?
