Linked is an interesting look at the exploits of Bravo Company of the First Marine Recon in Iraq. Sure it's Rolling Stone but the reportage is generally decent for a lefty rag. Be warned that the conclusion, some of the commentary from the reporter, and some of the dialogue he has "captured" sounds like he is interpreting Iraq after watching a few too many Vietnam movies.

Boats, saw this article earlier this year (at the Dr's office). I was suprised that it was written as well as it was. FWIW I thought it was worth reading.

Oh that's good - disrespect your immediate superior officers in print in the first few paragraphs.

Yeah, that's so uncommon, especially among sergeants who might know small unit tactics or the job in general better than many of the junior officers. The only gripe I really objected to was when certain marines were carping that the CO was trying to get them killed. He wasn't really too teed off about the sentiment though.

They're senior officers in my book, not in any respect superior.

I'm not saying it's uncommon, it's just really ????ing "retarded" to get it put into print.
