I as wondering if anyone here knows anything about the Sentinel Mk II in .357 magnum. I picked it up about a year ago from my girlfriends father, he only wanted $50 for it so I said sure. Been wanting some better grips for it too.

Just wanted to know if anyone knows of any problems or whatever they may have. And where I might be able to get grips, or other model/makes with the same frame. The serial # is H284XX.

thanks in advance for any help :D

It sounds like the one they insourced from Dan Wesson. Does it have a fluted nut holding the barrel in? if the grips are one piece with an allen screw through the bottom, it will probably take any of theDWA grips- or at least the ones from that era.

IIRC, the High Standard .357 was essentially a Dan Wesson M14/15 depending upon fixed or adjustable sights respectively. Grips should be interchangable, but I'm not 100% sure of lockwork parts or barrels. If there were any proprietary changes in spec, I'm not aware of them.

FWIW, I've had and used a DW M15-2 for over 25 years now. God only knows just how many rounds have been through it, but it's still extremely accurate, nothing's broken, and a newly-manufactured barrel/shroud set fit perfectly.

The Millett rear sight is the only mod besides different grips that I've needed. It's adjustments are more precise and repeatable, and it's more rugged. The only PITA with them is that the adjustment screws need their weird little tool. The upside is that I don't need it often as almost all of my shooting with my DW is with my standard handload these days.

Thanks guys:D

It does have like a spanner nut or something on that line at the end of the muzzle, 2 notches in it that oppose each other.

and the grip is held on by one socket head cap screw about a #10 that goes up from the butt at about a 10/15 degree angle.

Thanks again I"ve been :banghead: trying to find info on this thing.

A Dan Wesson .357 for $50? Can I follow you around and see if some of whatever it is rubs off?

You could if you wanted, though it probably wouldn't do a whole lot of good:p

I ordered the Hogue rubber grip for the Dan Wesson small frame from Ajaxgrips.com. I'll see if it fits by the end of the week I hope.
