sporting shotgun

i recently bought a Lanber 2097 sporting lux shotgun and a mate offered to take me trap shooting. will my gun be suitable for clay bird shooting? is there special shells to use for clay birds?

Should be good. Most any target loads will do, the majority trap shooting is done with #8 or #7.5 size shot; 1-1/8oz or less.

Best load I have found for me is a winchester aa 12 gauge load with 1 oz of #8 and I believe 19g of red dot. If you wanna load yoour own that is.

Absolutely! I had one myself once, and I used it exclusively for clay shooting.
