Help I want a Lever Action!!!

I know that the overall concensus is to get a Marlin and I think they are excellent rifles.
What I am looking for is a .357 lever and I was hoping to get opinions on the Winchester Legacy. I just love the looks of this gun. I like the looks much more then the Marlin and it is cheaper.
I realize U.S. repeating Arms is not really the Winchester of old but is this gun worth $380. That is quite bit cheaper than a comparable Marlin which I know to be a better gun. My question though, is the Winchester a piece of crap paper weight waiting to happen or is it a relatively good quality firearm?
Thanks for any opinions.
Chris

The Winchester M94 action was designed for rifle cartridges like the .30-30. It can be short stroked when chambered with the shorter pistol cartridges.
The Winchester M92 was made for old time short cartridges like the .44WCF and .38WCF, thus it works better for modern pistol cartridges like the .357 Magnum.

I have a 94 Trapper in .357 and love it. I shot both .38's and .357's in it without a single problem. The only thing I don't care for is the sights, (they aren't bad I'd just like something bettter) and I just haven't gotten around to replacing them yet.

A used Marlin 94 is the solution to your problem. It will be perfect for the 357 mag cartriddge. These are much nicer than modern Winchesters.

I have owned both Marlin and Winchester lever guns. My old 336 has been rechambered for 30/30 AI. That makes quite a difference in performance.
I have a Marlin 1894 in .44Mag, and that has been my primary 'meat' gun. For sights, I mounted an old Weaver 20mm tube in 2.5X
My Rossi 1892 in .357 is maybe the most fun for just carrying and plinking. The Lyman tang sight really helped with sighting.
