Snaps on top of a standard transistor battery. Looks like a great piece of kit.

They work. :D

I actually want one of these for myself.

The Basic is the one I was able to handle and use when out of town recently.
It will sit upright and act like a candle, akin to removing the top of a AA Mag-Light and in "Candle" mode.

9volt, like AA, AA can be bought anywhere.

Lady that has this one, has been real happy with it.
She actually has two, the other one I took a piece of electrical tape and secured a heavy twist tie from a loaf of bread, and stuck a beaded key chain through it.
With a pc of cord going through chain, it will hang, like from hood "hook" and give light to see under the hood.

Hand on a nail in the house (wherever) and give off light.

Remove beaded key ring, toss battery with tape and tie, and repeat if want on replacement battery.

Hers had held up very well, and the battery gives long life.

Interesting for sure, and she, myself recommend these for another tool in the toolbox.

Ridiculously over-priced...

Nifty idea, but too expensive. I bought a pair of 3W Luxeon LED flashlights from here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-x-3Watt-3-WATT-Luxeon-LED-Flashlight-Torch-AAA-26_W0QQitemZ130160086069QQihZ003QQcategoryZ106987QQcmdZViewItem

a couple of months age for $18, and they're great, much better than I would have expected. I kept one and gave the other to a friend. They run on three cheap AAA batteries, but only for a couple of hours.

For that matter, the 2-AA cell LED Mini-Maglite might be a better choice as well.
