Gun show today had both some Jap 7.7 (Graf) for a friend of mine and some Swiss GP11 ammo for my K31. I shot up a little of my Swiss military ammo getting a zero for the Vintage Military Rifle Match at Temple, Texas, and 35 rounds shooting the match.

www.aimsurplus.com has Swiss at a good price, but by the time you ship it the cost is about what I paid for 60 rounds of gunshow ammo. I paid 40.00 for a 60-round pack. I've got an unbroken 480 round box and half another. Not planning on shooting the K31 except in a couple of vintage matches a year and maybe a doe tag. This might be a lifetime supply. I started to buy more but the price was right on the bubble.

I won the Texas State Rifle Association Vintage Military championship this year and last with a K31 shooting Swiss GP11 ammo. 286X9 I'm thinking of taking it to the National Matches next year and shooting it instead of the Springfield 1903A3.

Have you tried the Wolf Gold 7.5 yet? I ran some SP out of my 1911 long rifle yesterday and it did surprisingly well. It was on par with the GP-11.

If you find that Swiss ball is too expensive, or hard to get, reload your own. I have done that . Swiss ball chronographs at 2565 fps in my rifles. I tested a number of powders and found that 4350, (my AA4350 produces identical velocity for charge as my IMR 4350) shoots well and produces the velocities I want.

I load using 51.0 grains 4350 with a 168 Nosler, Sierra, or Hornady Match bullet should do quite well. This load will shoot around 1.5” at 100 yards.

168 gr Nosler Match 51.0 gr AA4350 INDEP brass and primer OAL 2.850
22 Dec 01 T = 58 ° F
Ave Vel = 2536
Std Dev = 16
ES 45
Low 2510
High 2555
N= 9

168 gr Nosler Match 52.0 gr AA4350 INDEP brass and primer OAL 2.850
22 Dec 01 T = 58 ° F
Ave Vel = 2624
Std Dev = 28
ES 72
Low 2588
High 2660
N= 5

Thanks for the loads. Going to try and hang on to the Swiss GP 11 for a while, but you never know.

I do reload several calibers. One more set of dies couldn't hurt THAT much......

Wonder how the Sierra Matchking 155 Palma bullet would shoot in it?
