Well I was doing some brainstorming and removed the firing pin spring to see if it was the FP hole stopping the pin and it wasn't. Holding it as near to horizontal and giving it a good firm trigger pull and using a dummy round with putty in the primer case it worked perfect so my deduction is a weak hammer spring. So I ordered one to see. I also ordered a new firing pin spring for the heck of it....???
