Just opened my STG-2003C from IOinc.us today. It is an AK "Weiger" clone that is in 5.56x45 and made at Cugir. The fit and finish is nice, nicer then the century WASR stuff, the action is a little tight and catchy, needs to be broken in a little bit. It came with a Metal Weiger mag and i bought one promag and also have a Zastava M-95 magazine. I will take it out to the range tomorrow and see how it goes. I will take some pictures and upload them as well. The setup cost me $379 +15 shipping. If it works and is reliable this will be one of the best buys ive made in some time. But time will tell that.

I've seen the 2000c's on AIMsurplus. Let us know how it shoots.

Tore it down, cleaned and lubed, hand worked the acton a little bit, then took it out to brake in some more.

I expected it to jam a little bit maybe before it was broken in some more, but nope, the 20-30 shots i fired at at a tree were perfect. It loaded and cycled perfectly every time. This was with the Weiger mag that it came with (pictured) I have not tried my Zastava M-95 magazine (metal) with it yet, and the cheap $14 promag is not here yet, but i have my doubts that the Weiger mag it came with and the Yugo M-95 mag will be all that i use, but if the promag works 100% that will be great. All i know for now is that the Weiger mag it came with works 100% with it. It was pretty accurate, as i was just firing offhand. I will take it to my real range tomorrow and make some shots from 50 and 100 yards and see how it goes.

For now here are some pictures i snapped. I will post an updated range report tomorrow.

EDIT: None of the pictures will load/show on here

Here is the Link for a page that i made for them real quick, they are big and show as much detail as i could in the time i had to take them: http://www.angelfire.com/amiga/951951951/lsah/stg2003pics.html

My STG2000C came in with canted front sights. Once that was fixed, it shot like a champ when compared to other AK varants. Mine came with one poly pro-mag. Internals were a little ruff, (a good dose of lube and about 200 rounds took care of it.) I went through 7 mags in 3 min. The front grip isnt all that insulated.

Is the finish missing from your safety selector?

Also, is it just the pic or is the rifle still covered in cosmoline?

Just trying to get a feel for the condition/workmanship these come in.

Yes i have sience replaced the saftey selector with one from a romanian parts kit i had tucked away. It had what looked like cold blueing on it but was lacking the hot blue/park. I didnt have any .223 on hand, so i bought some remington .223 jsp from walmart for $9 a box to further test it out today. Yes it was still in cosmoline and came with a note card printed on saying to make sure and clean the barell out. As it was just enough cosmo to be dangerous. The scratches on the recievor around the selector are from that unfinished crappy selector also scraching the crap out of the rec. when i first moved it. I will take some more pictures with the gun stripped down to show how the front end is put togather. The barell is chrome lined and is listed as "steyr cold hammer forged only for the STG-2003C" in their printed flyer for the two guns (the 2000C and 2003C) meaning i guess that the ones in 7.62x39 just use the regular romanian WASR type barells. Thats a plus to have gotten the one in .223, so is the fact that its the same $379's as the 2000C in 7.62x39 i guess. Besides the $35 orriginal magazines if you want more them one. I wonder how the Orlite galil mags would work on here. Ill have to try and get one. Ill post the full on range report tonight when i get home from shooting it.

I wonder how the Orlite galil mags would work on here The Galil mag is made for a milled receiver gun, and probably would need the mag locking tab embiggened with weld to work in a standard AK. Galil mags work great in Saigas w/o much more than dremeling the front of 'em to fit because the Saigas are made NOT to take standard AK components (and the Galil mag is definitely not a standard AK component).

Try the .223 Pro-Mag or some Robinson Arms follower equipped 5.45x39 mags. Weigers or their romanian clones (http://www.centuryarms.biz/proddetail.asp?prod=MA1043) will also work.

the 2000C barrel is chrome lined and says the same thing except for 7.62x39
