Hi Folks,
Dave here from Australia.
I'm seeking information relating to a .58 Armi Jager model Zouave that I inherited from my father. It is a hex barrell, rifled and set triggered. My understanding is that it was a sporting/hunting rifle that was converted (bayonet fitted) and travelled with a German deployment to the USA in support of the Civil War.
My father said he had only ever seen 1 other of it's type - but that was a replica in a museam.
I'd be gratefull of any input and assistance members could provide.
I understand this rifle participated in a great part of American history.
I'll post up some pictures in the next few days if of interest.
Regards,
David
