Are there any organizations pushing for CCW legislation in Illinois, besides ICarry.org? I really think we need one along the lines of VCDL. I'd donate to ICarry but their organizer has gone a bit kooky, IMO.

If not, anyone know how to start and/or run an advocacy organization?

Right now, it seems we are a bit preoccupied with just keeping our guns in IL!

I can't recall the last time the owner of Icarry even bothered to post on his own website. He seems bent on tilting at a whole bunch of windmills simultaneously. Last I heard he was recently arrested for trying to use silver rounds as money at an ice cream parlor in Wisconsin.

I have talked with him several times and he can sound completely rational, and even well spoken. Then the next thing you know he says GWB blew up the WTC with equal sincerity.

Illinoiscarry.com is a good resource. We don't have something like VCDL here.

Does IllinoisCarry.com do any lobbying or public education campaigns, or is it just the website?

Yes, they do lots of lobbying, letter writing campaigns, telephone campaigns, personal visits with legislators, email alerts , testifying in committee, they also research and write fact sheets which are presented to legislators.
