Most people will say they are bad, but the two I have are some of my better scopes.

i paid about $40 for a HUGE pair of ncstar binoculars about 6 years ago. they never leave the house and are used only for birdwatching out the windows. they've held up pretty well :)

ncstar long-range rifle scope? heck no.

No, and no. You can find budget scopes that will hold up, but BSA and NcStar ain't them.

NcStar is a waste of money. My friends rifle won't group under the size of a paper plate at 100 yards. Its the scope. When the thing is on a rest you can move your head the the crosshair goes all over the target. That is a serious parallax problem. Get a Tasco if you are going that cheap.

A 700P is a waste of a rifle though if you can't spend over $50 on a scope.

I bought a NcStar "Tactical" 3-9x scope to put on my FAL. I liked it. It had an illuminated reticle, clear optics, and was weatherproof.

However, the eye relief was MAYBE .6 inches. No lie. Had to get ride of it. I opted for a russian scope instead. I like it much better, and can hit better with the russian scope (even though it's only a 5x.)

no, as they brake from recol or other rather natural fources alone... if they were worth a damn or even focued in the fist place. But thats just my person experience. But then again the BSA laser ive got isnt completely broken. half of it kind of still worked a week after i got it.

I've got a BSA 2-7x32 airgun scope on my Saiga .308. Before that it was on my FAL. Between the two rifles I've put about 1000 rounds through it and it's still doing fine. Of course airgun scopes typically are better built than regular scopes so I don't know how others would hold up.

NO!

I've owned them all Simmons Tasco NcStar BSA all complete junk of the highest order. I no longer go any cheaper than a Nikon Monarch, I save money that way by not wasting $$$ on unusable junk optics

No, why would you. For about the same money ($70 or so)you can get the low end Bushnell, while not the greatest piece of glass they at least hold up well. I shoot a .308 and a .50 Beowulf with these in 1.5-4.5.

An even better scope in the $90-100 range is the Pentax Gameseeker, slightly better glass than the low end Bushnell. I've only had it a couple of months but so far so good.

YES! I have a NcStar on a SKS and Nagant...they have worked just fine (so far) you get what you pay for with most scopes...remember your $40 scope isn't a $400. Spend what you can.

Mine works fine, but at high mag, it get's milky. It's on a gun that deserves more, but I spent it on the gun. I put a Leupold on my hunting rifle, this NcStar is on a benchrest type 223, so recoil is not an issue.

I don't like the NcStar I have on my AR15, but it's a short body model and the eye relief just isn't right for me. Works fine, just not on my flattop AR is all. If you want it cheap, PM and we can start communication, I'll provide a picture and what not once we exchange e-mail addresses.

Just throwing it out there, I haven't got to getting rid of it and going back to the open sights just yet.

BArska??? Also I can probably spend around 200.00 for now. I always plan to upgrade. IE my ar m4 started with an Aimpoint clolne than an aimpoint comp m2 and now acog....Took a few years though...

If you have a $200 budget, look at the Sightron SII, Burris Fullfield II, Bushnell Elite 3200, Weaver Classic V series, or Nikon Buckmaster.

Avoid BSA, NcStar and Barska.

I have owned Zeise, Kahles,Burris, Leupold, Weaver Grand Slam, Bushnel Elite 3200 & 4200, Nikon, Simmons, Tasco, and FUJINON. I have a sickness called gun trading so I have owned and shot a lot of firearms. Believe it or not the Fujinon has the best optics of the bunch. I can't really believe it myself but it's true. They never caught on here and apparently are being discounted, I've seen some on e-bay trying to find info. on the one I traded for. I traded for a NIB 2x7 about 2 weeks ago and find it unbelievable. Paraphrasing the info. on "Coyote Sporting Optics web site, they are the brightest, the toughest, and have optics that are the equal to Zeise, Swarofoski, Nikon, Leupold, Kahles, and Burris. I compared this scope to my Zeise Conquest and a Leupold Vari XIII and there was no contest. Clearer, crisper and much better light gathering. This scope has a sticker on the box for $284 which isn't cheap but I think you can find them for around $100-$150 or so as I believe they are no longer imported (could be wrong). I kid you not, they are ugly but they really, really, have unbelievable optics. If you can find one buy it. You won't be sorry. Just my 2 cents worth.
