Come back to this post in five years and you'll be saying "Why didn't I buy that LN nickel Python back in 2007 when I could have got it for less than $1500."

Python prices are going through the roof. If trends keep up that gun WILL be selling for $1500 in five years.

It's a good thing I don't care for nickel finishes.

I feel fortunate to have paid "only" half a grand for my Python (a six-inch stainless made in 1982), c. 1999. It is not for sale, but if prices go up enough ... well, it's just a commodity. ;)

They definitely won't be getting any cheaper. If you have intentions of ever owning one save up and get one while you can. There are still plenty of nice examples out there to be had, but with Colt halting production of all revolvers they will only increase in value over time. I've got several older Colt revolvers, I've purchased over the years, and they are increasing in value better than my 401K at work is.

Man, that's a shiny one  Me, I prefer the blue ones myself ;) I'm glad I got mine last year and only spent $750

That really is not a bad price on that pistol.
My checking account sure has suffered most my adult life because of Colts.
