I'm a new member and have posted in 2 or 3 threads already. When I come back to this site, how can I QUICKLY find out which threads I have posted in? Thanks.

Go to search, advanced search, then type your name (Pete409) in search by user name. Welcome to THR.

Thanks, Littlegator. Now, how do I find out which threads I've posted in which have new posts since I last read that thread?

In other words, I would like to be able to tell at a quick glance when I come to this forum which threads I have posted in that have additional posts since I was here last. Thanks for any help.

There's a slightly easier method to find your posts than doing a search. Click on your name anywhere you see it, for instance in this thread, or even more easily in the Currently Active Users listing at the bottom of the front page. Your name will always be the first one in the list. That brings up your profile where you can access all your posts and/or all threads started by you.

For your second question look at the icon legend at the bottom of any forum index page. You will see that a yellowish envelope means there are new posts. An arrow on the envelope means you have posted in that thread. So if the envelope is yellow (or red/yellow) and has an arrow, you have posted in it and it has new posts.

Mal H,

Thanks for the info, but it seems that I'm still not finding what I want. Perhaps it isn't available on this site.

To repeat what I'm looking for, I'd like to be able to come to this site and make only one or two clicks and see a LIST of all the threads I have posted in that have new posts in them since I last read the thread.

Your first suggestion of clicking on my name does take me to my profile. However, if I have posted say 500 posts on this site, then I would have to click on all 500 posts in order to find out whether anyone had posted anything new on any of them.

Your second suggestion of searching for the threads which have an arrow on the envelope would take almost as long as the first method. The reason being is that I would have to go to every single forum and look at the list of threads on every single page to find out if there is an envelope with an arrow on it.

There has got to be a better and faster way of finding out if someone has posted on a thread that I've previously posted on.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks Mal - learned something new.

Pete409 - when you look at your list of posts using either the profile or search method (actually they're both searches), you will see the same icons I mentioned above. If the envelope icon is yellow (or yellow/red for high count threads), then there are new posts in it. You won't see the arrows, since the listing is for your posts in the first place. If that's not what you need, then you're correct, it's not possible.

littlegator - you're welcome. :)

Thanks, Mal.

I think that clicking on my list of posts in my profile is the best way for me to go. While it does list ALL the threads I've posted in, the icon will quickly tell me which ones have new posts in them.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding Pete409's question , but it seems to me there is a one click solution. As long as you have it set in your 'subscription options' to automatically subscribe to a thread you have posted on .. then all you have to do is click on 'User CP' in the top navigation bar and will see which posts have been added to.

hexidismal - this thread started out with a subscription question, but it changed in midstream to a new posts question.

Oh, I know Mal, and I didn't mean to butt in really. My intention was to answer Pete409s question made in post #6. If he didn't have the auto-subscription enabled, then he would have to use the method you replied with. I only meant to let him know for the future, that once its enabled he can quickly reference new posts in his thread as he mentioned using the user cp nav.

Hexidismal,

Thanks for the tip. That seems to be what I'm looking for. I click on "User CP" near the top of the page and it shows which threads that I've posted in that have new posts in them.
