Expatriating to Estonia

Tere,

I'm looking to starting a job in Estonia this winter. I've spoken with the Estonian IPSC RD on the basic practicalities (pun not intended), but some assistance in getting my firearms imported and registered correctly would be greatly appreciated. As would info on ranges and clubs.

I shoot IPSC with pistol, shotgun and rifle. A range/club where practice with all of this is possible on a weekly basis thru the year would be... practical (ok, pun now intended). OK, for more convenience in winter an indoor range would also be nice to find, I have a .22 conversion set for my pistol too if that helps it. As to the club angle, I have Finnish NROI certification as IPSC Range Officer and would be entirely happy to work matches. The RD said that the Finnish certification will be good down there too.

I will be located in the Tallinn area. PM me to get in touch!

I am of no help but very Jealous! I visited Tallinn back in the late 90's and would love to go back. The old european city mixed with the concrete starkness of communism is something to behold (plus you're a ferry ride away from Stockholm.)

Arvad et THRis, mis on siiski Amide maale keskendunud, on eestlasi palju? Tallinn on mõistlik, kuna seal on siiski enam-vähem adekvaatne tiir olemas, Männikul. Saadan sulle PMi kah. Relvade importimiseks on tarvis politseist relvade sisseveoks luba, mille saamine ei ole mure kui relvad ka kohalikele seadustele vastavad.

Palju tänu Medusa! Let's continue in PM then.

Ah, Estonia. Beautiful country, friendly & very intelligent people.

I visited Tallinn once myself (celebrated a birthday there, in fact), back when it was part of the USSR. So very different (as in "better") from Russia!

Sorry I can't help you with your question, though.

Nate, you're right about all of that. Wouldn't be getting there if it weren't...

I've got the pointers to get me started there, though. THR is highly useful even in relations across the Baltic Sea... ;)
