Just picked one of these up for $599 :D

It looks great, I love the bull barrel...

Now, a few questions:

Where can I get 30 round .223 ar-15 clear magazines? It came with the smokey clear ones, but they are 10 rounders, so I'd like a few 30 rounders, even 20 is ok...

Good flash supressor for it?

Anything I should know about this gun? Whats a good CQB red dot scope for the picatany rail?

Basicly whats the best site for ar-15 accessories, because I want to add the above stuff and a harris bipod...and also a collapsable stock...

BTW... I know about the legal aspects (I'm a L.E.O.) just asking about the parts... Thanks

This is the good stuff. If they don't have it, it isn't worth owning. They are the best company I have ever dealt with. They know their products, their service is terrific, and they are nice guys.

You won't be able to install a flash suppressor or a collapsable stock unless the "assult weapons ban" is repealed. These items are prohibited on a post-ban rifle.

Edited: Sorry, I missed the fact that you are a LEO. MSTN has what you need.

Cool. Thanks for the link. Now to decide what type of sight to put on this puppy...

No flash suppressor for you!!!!! It is a post ban rifle. Dpms makes very good rifles.

Anyway, its besides the point, because it has a bull barrel, would like kinda silly with a supressor..

I had posted initially that I just wanted info about the gun and parts, not the laws...But I know its hard to keep on track on these forums... Everyone wants to jump in about the laws, even if posted thats not the issue. Remember with LEO use, it could be being used for vice work, etc... reason why I had posted that I didn't want to know about laws, I know about them, I lock people up for those things (not AWB laws, but laws in general) :D

Now just trying to decide on a sight, especially since I can't afford those ACOG $1400+ sights...:banghead:

As I understand it, even though you are a cop, you still can't put a suppressor on a post ban. Besides how was I to know you are a cop, nothing in your bio. For all I know you were a newbie to AR's and wanted to doctor it up. I'd put a regular scope on it. Maybe a nice Leupold. I myself like the K.I.S.S. principle. I went with the A-15 Classic Sixteen. As a an Air Force cop I got used to the iron sights. Less to fail on the weapon.

Shouldn't your depeartment supply you with the weaponry they'd like you to use? Besides, your privately owned firearms are subject to the same laws your serfs' guns are.

Iron sights are good.

Without going into legal discussions too much that are not related to the thread, I'll just say that in this state peace officers are exempt from a wide variety of weapons laws, especially on weapons to be used on duty, etc...

At any rate, I do understand a lot of newbies to AR-15s and AKs don't understand and thats why you had your reply on the supressor.

And I do appreciate the replies...

My carbine started life as a Lo-Pro Classic but it looks a lot different now. The nice side of it is that it's a good rifle. The accuracy is much better than one should expect from a low end, short barrelled gun. I wanted to go to a collimator-type, holographic red-dot sight but just didn't have the money to go for a Trijicon or Aimpoint. I settled on a Russian Kobra and its the best $120 I ever invested. I'd rather have an Aimpoint but I doubt that I'll have one unless the price drops dramatically. CDNN is still advertising these units for $120 in the latest Shotgun News.

ATN, Hakko and Oko all seem to be getting good results and the prices for these waver around $200. I understand you can buy an ATN-type sight from the Russian manufacturer, sans the ATN name, for $120 but it's the basic model and not the digital unit.
