You seem to see a lot more Smith & Wesson autoloaders on TV than you do in real life. Most gun shop owners I've asked said they just don't move that well. Not saying they're not good guns; I have no experience either way. They're just not especially popular, I guess.

My local dealer seems to carry tons of low end pistols (Taurus), and tons of highend pistols (Kimber ect). Not much in between.

As a huge Taurus fan and owner and a Kimber fan owner I think you should say "low cost" instead of "Low end" makes them sound like they are bad quality. Not saying all models of Tauri are perfect but what manufacturers product line is....

He probably used a S&W M4506 because it's LAPD- authorized for those wanting to carry a .45. SWAT has Kimbers but street cops have to carry S&W, I think, or Beretta 9mm's.
