I put a CZ 70 .32ACP in layaway today. Total price, tax and all, was $109. Not bad at all. The little gun has good ergonomics and it really seems to fit well. The trigger drags a bit, but I'm going to disassemble and lubricate it before taking any action on it. Any of you guys own one of these? I'm thinking of using it as a CCW until I can save up for the compact Glock.

You'll have to post some pics and give us a full range report.

I have a CZ70 that I enjoy shooting, and I use it for carry sometimes. Mine is peculiar in that it will not feed typical full-metal jacket ammunition. It works perfectly with hollowpoints, however. I use Fiocchi for both carry and practice and have been happy with its performance. The trigger pull on all of these pistols is heavy. For the mission of close up defense, though, this is not a huge problem. I have no trouble placing shots on target at the short distances that would necessitate double action fire.

I had one. I am still kicking myself for selling it to my brother. It was nice and slim and comfortable for concealed carry but I prefer something with a little more Oomph. The only problem I had with it was that it was finicky about ammo. It didn't feed Winchester, which I think was a hair too long to feed right, but would gobble up Sellier&Belloit FMJ all day. Czech gun, Czech ammo. Go figure. I never tried hollow points with it since I was more concerned with penetration with a .32 ACP.

I've got one.

It's a fun little gun, but certainly isn't going to be anything more than an occasional pinker.

The double action trigger pull is close to 20 pounds. It's horrendous.

The single action is also heavy, but it's not too terrible.

The grip is square and block and feels weird in the hand.

The safety is stiff. Operating the decocker the first couple dozen times required two hands it was so stiff.

Complete disassembly for the initial cleaning is rather a pain in the butt.

The magazine release is hard to get to.

Still, it's a fun gun, it's accurate as anything, it points well, and mine at least is turbo reliable.

You can certainly do a LOT worse in choosing a handgun.

Oh, word of warning.

Do NOT dry fire this gun! You'll likely break the firing pin in short order.
