I just about have my Dillion 650 ready to crank out a five gallon bucket of .223.

I see the max OAL is 2.26, however the bulk bullets I bought vary about 0.020" when seated on the Dillion. I measured some off-the-shelf Remigton and find it too varies about 0.020" in OAL. The Remington runs from about 2.235" down to about 2.220.

What are your recommendations nominal OAL on this batch? And what brand bullet is the most consistent for length and weight?

Thanks in advance.
Scott

It depends on the bullet. I have been using 62 grain pulled M855 bullets and crimp them in the canalure. That gives me an OAL of 2.245. If you reduce the Oal much you will need to reduce the powder also. As long as they feed, fit in the magazine and chamber fine I would rather have them on the longer side.

Remember you are measuring from the tip of the bullet and not the Ogive. The tips will be different in length from the base to the tip.
What you need is a Bullet Comparator.
