I just wanted to know if any other THR member know of a good reference for older/collectable ammo. In my years of being a gun nut I have collected a couple of boxes and need to know what type of value they have.
Here are some pictures:

I would be interested to know if there is any sort of market as well. I have a couple of old (empty) powder cans I would be willing to sell. Large red metal can for Red Dot and some Winchester 1 lb. cans.

Just to coat-tail on this, I was wondering what made these "a bit of a collectors' item," according to the guy I bought them from.

I only bought 'em because I can't stand the thought of having a rifle around with no ammo and I had to get home soon. All wrapped in plastic, they were.

Its a variable market, more along the lines of caliber/bullet with maker and year of manufacure. Old pre ww2 big game ammo is the best. SOme of the old big bore elephant cartridges can hit 150 a loaded round.
