DGW offers a few options for their 1851 Navy's. My question is this: what's the difference between the "Dixie 1851 Navy - Steel Frame (made in Italy)" and the "Uberti 1851 Navy Revolver"? Am I to assume the former is a Pietta model?

I think a lot of the Dixie models are made by Palmetto, which is a step down from horse crap according to what I have heard. But, that is just hear-say.

I suspect the reason they don't say who the manufacturer is, is to allow themselves to ship whatever they have in stock at that time - Pietta, Palmetto, Uberti or whatever - including returns.
Just a guess on my part.
