Yes.

This is the news media creating news. It is 2nd grade journalism and should be treated as such.

It probably only allows one vote per IP address. Are you saying we shouldn't vote?

I didn't say that.

But my guess is that is how the 'in favor of' numbers got so high to begin with...

Ok, this is rich. Considering the recent crimes in the national news committed by Law Enforcement, maybe they shouldn't be the ones pointing the finger! Now, I don't want anyone to think that I'm bashing Law Enforcement, which I'm not. In my hometown we have a great police force that does a great job of keeping the Youngstown riff raff out of our area. However, these crimes committed by law enforcement (I'm referring to the 6 deaths committed by the young officer in Wisconsin, and the officer who killed his girlfriend and unborn child here in Akron, OH.) only furthers my point that officers are just as capable (if not more so) in committing murder just like us lowly peasants. In my second example no AW was used, but it was still an example of a supposed honorable member of the LE community committing a heinous crime. My response to this group pushing for more restrictions on responsible gun owners is this: Maybe you should worry about policing your own, before you start proposing poor legislation on those who actually follow the law. I realize that these two particular officers were just bad apples, but LEOs should be working WITH responsible gun owners not trying to erode our rights. Again, I apologize if this is construed as being anti-LEO, but I'm tired of this "Do as I say, not as I do" mentality that is so prevalent in virtually every aspect of "government"

4% seem to be brain dead.

I think the 4% are being good citizens. They probably don't know what an "assault weapon" is. Unlike the other 46% this is a good enough reason not to vote. The other 46% vote to ban because they don't know what it is either but is sure sounds scary.

It'd sure be nice if they actually explained what they meant by the poll.

Most people see "assault weapon" and probably picture rambo walking down the street with a belt-fed M60. "Well of course we should ban those!"

voted, and we are up...

also...

Deadly shootings of officers are up 54 percent this year, and officials say the troubling statistic reflects a growing disregard for police. "There is a basic lack of respect for authority," Texas Ranger Capt. Barry Caver says.

maybe this has somthing to do with the fact that too many LEO show a 'basic lack of respect' for the general citizens...
