Anyone deal with WhatACountry.com?

Here's the background: I ordered 3 New East German 30 rounders from them on Monday (10/15) afternoon. The company is in Cali, so it was pretty early over there, so I figured for sure the order would be processed and I'd at least get a confirmation email from them that day. So today, I send a polite email to them, just asking when I would get a confirmation email. I also stated that I do not buy things online often, so maybe I'm just being too worried/impatient. The response I get, word for word was: "They will be sent out by the end of the week!". Nothing else, just that sentence. Now maybe it's just me, but that doesn't seem very professional. I mean, my email was polite and even signed it "First time and hopefully repeat customer," . I would have rather dealt with a more well-known company, but this is the only site I found that will ship pre-ban hi-caps to NY. So whatcha guys think, am I being too paranoid of dealing with a lesser known company or what?

I suspect you'll be fine. I've never really see any bad press on W-A-C... .or not enough that I'd remember it.

I order a LOT of stuff on-line, and often I see shipping estimates like "End of the week." It usually surprises me by getting here earlier. From 10/15,I wouldn't worry. Yet.

GL!

Dude, it's been TWO days. Chill out some. Many times companies will get a ton of orders over the weekend and then have to work through them for awhile to get caught up.

Give it a week, and then you can start getting itchy.

OK, thanks for the calming words. I figured I was being paranoid/impatient. But I was burned once with online purchasing, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. But ordering parts online is a HUGE part of firearms nowadays, so I guess I'll have to get used to it.

LMAO... I wish you all could have seen the look on my wife's face when I told her that I would need her new oven for a Molycoat re-finishing I would be doing soon.

I think it was lost on her that it actually won't hurt her new oven.

Oh well... she has to leave the house SOMETIME.

I recently ordered 4 East German Red AK-74 magazines and a pouch from them.

They were somewhat slow, but the mags came, and as advertised they were brand new.

I did make the mistake of ordering a couple of small items from Joeken Inc.
Last I'd heard, they were an OK company, but apparently no longer.
They haven't sent the items, and haven't responded to numerous contact attempts.
I'm in the process of having my card company retrieve my money.
A check with the Arizona Better Business Bureau shows them as having a number of complaints and refusing to respond to them.

FYI: isn't the "Joe" of JoeKen operating Arms of America now? I've seen that on a number of threads. If so, heads up!

I've de-cosmoed two rifles and about 10 mags in the house. No big deal. Small parts can soak in mineral spirits. Large parts I blast with brake cleaner. Baking it out WILL SMELL!

Yeah, I've read up on it and kerosene and Coleman lantern fuel have come up quite a bit. Then I see mineral spirits. Seems like 2 totally different ends of the spectrum there.

I wasn't questioning delivery time, I was questioning when I would get a confirmation email. But thanks anyway.

Some foreign cultures just don't get us Americans - we like lots warm, fuzzy, trite, friendly, words with our mail orders.

It's very hard to communicate your tone through e-mail. People tend to assign it the worst possible intent. Maybe you wouldn't be as upset if they added a smiley? :-)

Glad to see you had a positive experience with them, besides the time. Also glad to hear that the merchandise arrived as advertised.
