Now honest, I was just running up to the store for some gun cleaning supplies, when I found this on the used gun rack. It's a Browning 1885 Traditional Hunter in 45-70, date code is for 1997 but it appears pretty much unused. Added a target I shot today, Hornady Leverevolution ,shot at 100 yards. Note that the front bead covers the entire Orange circle at this range. The shot upper right was my last sighter getting on target, adjusted POI down and left then shot 5 for groups. The last shot was the far left, eyes were getting a little tired then, 3.29" for 5 shots, 2.2" for first four, should be able to kill some pigs with it this year.

Pretty decent wood on it too, and the best part is the wife just said how pretty it was. Of course they did deliver her $3k quilting cabinet this week. And don't laugh at the background, that's the quilt she made me a couple of years ago so I have a blankie to take to the deer camp.

Actually I think it is the perfect back ground.

Welcome to the brotherhood. My 1885 is a modern style low wall in 223. It's going to get rebarrels to 6.5 Swede or 260 after hunting season.

It's a fantastic rifle. Enjoy.

Great guns, too bad they only made a few years. I have a B78 in .30-06 and a tack driver .45-70 in the 1885. They seem to be few and far between.

I've watched a few of the rare 260 low walls go used for over $2k. There sure aren't any cheap ones, and they don't last long.

Beautiful gun.

Firing full house loads with that crescent buttplate is an experience you will remember every time you look at your shoulder for some days to come.

Pattontime, that's not a bad price, I picked this one up for $900 because it has one deep ding in the stock. Their is one of your model available in Houston that I know of in .45 LC and they want $1175 with no haggling. I see them on the auction sites at $1200-1700 all the time.
