Which Taser? c2 or x26c...

I'm trying to decide on the right taser unit.
The new C2 might be the obvious choice -- $300 and most of the features of the X26c. Downside might be that you'd have to go to a PD for activation and a background check :scrutiny:
The X26 can be used as a contact weapon if a cartridge has been used & the need arises to incapacitate another BG and the 'look' of the x26 might be bit more intimidating than the c2.
Plus, I'm told refurb units might be available at a nice discount  over new...but still alot more than $300.
Will I miss the added features? :scrutiny:

C2 with the laser sight is real nice. Simple to use and opperate. The "backround check," is a 2 minute phone call.

I like the C2 design, only because a policeman wouldnt confuse it with a pistol and put bullets in your butt like the X26c might lead him or her to do.

The big advantage I see w/ the x26 unit is that even if you release the spent cartridge, the hand unit can be used as a stun gun -
As for confusing the x26 for a firearm -- slim chance since most LEOs know what a taser looks like, but I see your point anyway ;)

I have the Black Pearl C2 without the laser. I really like the C2 better than the x26c because it fits in a pocket and it does not look like a firearm. I can carry it in a parking lot without attracting attention to myself. It also has the 30 second ride with just one push of the trigger. With the X26c you have to pull the trigger three times to deliver the 30 second ride as pulling the trigger once only gives a 5 second ride.

You can also use the C2 as a backup contact stun device with or without the cartridge.

Correction!
The X26c delivers a 10 second ride with each trigger pull not 5 seconds.

I would go with the C2!

I sure wish they'd come up with a Taser solution that allows for multiple shots to deal with multiple assailants, misses, etc .... just 1 shot doesn't interest me.
