Carry rig poll - Who makes your everyday carry holster?

I'm interested to know what people are carrying their everyday guns in. I'm particularly interested to know if anyone is carrying in an Uncle Mikes or a no-name nylon holster, and how that works for you.

I put up a few, but I expect that if I see "other" shoot up I must have missed one.

Crossbreed works well for me. Both SP101 and Pro CDP II.

Kramer Speed Scabbard in black horsehide. I traded into this holster and the handgun that fits it, and it quickly became my favorite.

I am using a generic Uncle Mikes IWB for my Witness 10mm, while I am waiting for my S&W MP compact to get here. once that arrives and i get confortable with it and find a good holster, the witness will become a backpacking/ hunting backup gun.

I love Uncle Mike's for my P229. Once you figure out the right spot for it, you forget that it's there sometimes.

Blackhawk Serpa for my 1911. Possibly the most intuitive retention system I've ever tried.

No Milt Sparks, Del Fatti, or Alessi in the poll? That might be what lance22 was thinking of.

My primary is toted 90% of the time in a COM by HBE. So, I answered "custom." When I replace it, it will be replaced by a Milt Sparks VM2.

The other 10% of the time, a Don Hume OWB/pancake/high-ride dealie does the trick.

Mine is usually a two point rentition system, Mexican carry, My levis and my gut. :D I usually stuff my Glock 26 in my waistband most of the time.

When I want to wear OWB holster, I use my Lou Alessi CQC/S's.

When I want to wear a IWB holster, I use my Milt Sparks VMII's.

Lately, I have been wearing my G30 in my CQC/S and my 1911 in my WMII.

At work...carry in a Galco. When I am not at work, usually a Don Hume JIT Slide.

Alessi, or LAW Concealment Systems most days.

I like Galco and have a lot of them, just not day to day wear now.

Will be carrying a Blackhawk Serpa daily pretty soon with my M9 in it.

Bought it very slightly used right here in the trader for a great price and I LOVE that holster. In combination with my alloy CCO it makes the perfect every day sidearm IMO.

Kirkpatrick Leather made all three of my holsters, and mag pouches. I've had one for over 8 years, and the others for less time.

Depending on which pistol, mine is held in a Milt Sparks VMII or Watch Six (1911s) UBG Striker I (Kahr P45) or DeSantis Nemesis (Kahr PM9).

Eric at HBE Leatherworks did an excellent job on my carry holster. Last I heard he was a year behind in orders.

Milt Sparks for my Sig and Kimber .45s.
But, I live in the desert and it frequently tops 120 degrees in the summer. That makes a big gun hard to conceal in dress pants and shirt. When its hot I go to...

KD Holster Style: Defender IWB.

Gould and Goodrich IWB have been using it for years but it puts the Kimber right up against my spare tire and it doesn't feel good so I started wearing it OWB on the belt. I don't worry about it falling out because the spare helps hold it in place and it doesn't hurt as much as IWB.
Have an El Paso High Slide on order. Should get it tomorrow. Hope I like it.
I got a Concealment T today and it s**ks. The gun pulls down on one side of the shirt and is really uncomfortable and because of my size I have to do a same side draw instead of crossdraw like it is designed for. Good thing I can shoot right or left. Sorry for the long windedness.

Because ordering something professional would draw unnecessary attention to myself (am SA ex-service living in the EU with its ridiculous laws and ideas regarding firearms), I transformed a Bianchi belt holster into a shoulder rig using a space age saxophone strap. The weight of a Mod 36 pulls the main bulk slightly behind the armpit, so it's comfortable and virtually undetectable. The snubby hangs butt down. This sounds bad, but I can actually draw with either hand thanks to the way it positions itself.

Just switched to Bianchi Black Widow from the Hume JIT. I decided I need a thumb break after an embarrassing faux pas ("thunk-clackety-clack" gun on floor).

I for the life of me could not find an IWB straight drop leather holster with a belt clip. So I had Black Hills Leather make me one.

Blackhawk CQC for my duty rig. Off duty is an Uncle Mike's pocket holster. I used to use a FIST which was HORRIBLE. I will never buy another of their products. Then I got a Com 2 (or 3?) from HBE. I don't carry my 1911 anymore since its having reliability issues. You'd think that Kimber would just replace the damn thing after it's third trip to the factory :rolleyes:

I use a crossbreed for my XDs. Priced nice, good warranty and they are pretty comfortable for me.

I dont carry everyday, but when I do my holsters are Comp-Tac.

Had been using el-cheapo, just got my MTAC this week, very happy with it, should have done it along time ago. Oh, carry gun is m&p 9. Thinking about getting another for my 92f.

My Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail (commander size 1911) rides in a Rafter S and my Kahr E9 rides in a custom holster made by a friend who does leather work on the side.

The quality of the Rafter S is very nice, I would definitely purchase another.

Leather - Was using Rafter S leather company until recently and now they've stopped responding to emails or delivering holsters. I'm considering going with the aforementioned DM Bullard, who is a heck of a nice guy, I've met him a couple of times at the Dallas Market Hall Gunshow.

Kydex - Comp-Tac, Comp-Tac, Comp-Tac. Awesome customer service, awesome bunch of guys.

I only use leather belt holsters these days. I know many people love IWB holsters, but they just don't work for me.

Another vote for Crossbreed.

I wear an Andrews Custom Leather holster. I bought the Hybrid Saddle Style without the thumbreak (and a matching double mag carrier). Exceptional craftsmanship, excellent design. This model is not a pancake holster. The seams are offset so that when the holster is under the tension of the belt, it doesn't squeeze the gun making it difficult to draw.

Mostly Kramer and Sparks, but I use other commercial ones if they suit me for a particular mode of carry or gun. I must admit, crossdraws work very well for me for CCW.

I voted Galco 'cuz that's what they had when I got the RAMI. That said, I like the Crossbreed look. Both IWB & OWB.Also like HighNoon. Looks like I'm going to be spending some money:uhoh::D

Modified De Santis, Modified Uncle Mike's, or something I made myself. Depends on the situation and the weather.

I fell into the 'other' category too. (If you tried to list them all the poll would run to 3 pages) I did carry a G27 in a Uncle Mikes belt slide for several years with no trouble but it's starting to wear. I went back to a Gould & Goodrich 3 slot pancake holster that I bought for its big brother G22.

www.kytac.com makes all my carry rigs. Have found none better, before or since.

FIST ultra-thin Kydex for me

Custom made by me for me - leather/Kydex hybrid, left-hand IWB. Similar to those made by and shown in rustygray's post. I use some beige Kydex that I got surplus locally. Cost me less than 10 bucks for a full 4' by 8' sheet of the stuff. It was originally to be used in aircraft interiors. Not marked with the Kydex brand, but has the same thermoplastic properties and forms just like it.

I roll my own.

I go between High Noon and a desantis for IWB carry. I have a Galco for shoulder carry.

Heres my MLS belt slide and and MV1 magazine holder from Andy Aratoonian at Horseshoe Leather. Five weeks seemed like an agonizing wait three years ago. What would you give to get a made-to-order holster that quick these days? I think you guys who make your own have the right idea!

All my holsters are great. I recently learned with my Blackhawk that the strap goes over the back strap and not the grip. Makes a world of difference.

I have a sort of unkown brand, a Shado Left Handed CZ 75B holster. I love it. it has an adjustable button so you can adjust the size of the loop, the stitching is good quality, and my CZ fits it perfectly. And apparently it's made in South Africa

I got it in a CZ left hand version, which is almost impossible to find by any big brand, but they also have my particular holster in everything from the makarov to the walther ppk to the glock 17 to a GI 1911 and everything in between. I got the black version.

Bianchis for my 1911's, Beretta 96, and colt detective positive. Have a Don Hume for open carry, but don't do that often.

Comp-Tac MTAC. I came very close to ordering a SuperTuck, but didn't like the crosses on the belt clips. Yeah, maybe I'm just being silly, but if my friends noticed I'm sure they'd start asking questions. I'm not exactly the most religious person.

Dale Fricke Appendix Inside the Waistband holster called the Archangel. I have one for my Glock 19 and one for my 4" Springfield Champion 1911. They fit me very well and are all day comfortable.
